PE- Striking and Fielding

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities.

Link to modelling book on online zone.

My Strengths

The striking strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were to keep my eyes on the ball and stand side on.

The throwing and catching strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were keeping my eyes on the ball so I know where it's going.

My Next Steps

To improve my striking of a ball I need a good stance and hold the bat firmly because that way I can bat more further and better than before.

To Improve my catching and fielding I need to use soft hands to catch so the ball won't bounce out of my hands.

The game that I enjoyed the most was Rounders because it was an active game that kept me moving and a great game to practise my striking and fielding skills.

I can describe how to identify authors purpose.

I had to read two different stories of different types, then had to fill in this sheet below how they had achieved their purpose.

PALS games

On Wednesday 23 march, me, Finn and James set out a game of dodgeball for the kauri team. The game was a success and the teams alright, but then, near the end of the game, the teams kind of got mixed up. But a overall it was a good game. It was decent and good fun. I really enjoyed because it got me moving and we had no problems. We were connecting with each other by thinking more about how the game is going to be. We were talking to each other about ideas we could use.

Evaluating Information

Here is an example of my learning about changing the nz flag.
I decided not to change the flag for many reasons.

Know Square Numbers To 100 And The Matching Square Roots

WALT know square numbers to 100 and the matching square roots.
I completed the two maths activities on IXL and they are the square roots of perfect squares and write multiplication expressions using exponents.

Helping out with PALS

On Tuesday at lunchtime, I helped Alex with PALS. We played French Cricket with the juniors and the seniors and had fair turns. We all agreed on the rules and no one was cheating. We thinker outside the box and split them into two smaller groups instead of one large one. I was being aware that there was lots of people playing the game and made the game more fun with more turns.

Librarian work.

On Monday 14 march, at lunchtime I was on library Duty. There were lots of books to put away when I got there. That was the first thing I did. It took a while but it was fun. I like putting away senior books because they're easier. We didn't get to do much work on issuing because not much people wanted a book. I like being a librarian because it is fun and you get to work with books. Which I like. I was collaborating with others by helping me and my partner understand about more of the library.

Kauri Assembly

On Monday 14 march we went to the kauri assembly. Firstly we sang our school waiata. Then Mrs patten talked about the CARE values in the classroom. We had a demonstration by some of the room 11 people. At the end of the assembly we had a game. Unfortunately it was only for the year fours. It was about basketball and Mr Forman won. It was fun to watch but maybe even more fun to play.
I was being self aware by listening to the presenters and keeping my hands and feet to myself.

WALT know the relative size and place value structure of positive and negative integers and decimals to three places.

PALS

On Thursday I helped Brooke and Natalie with PALS at lunchtime. We played What's The Time Mr Wolf with the juniors. We only had three people playing and gave out pozis to them. We got a tiny bit of a duck duck goose in but then the bell rang. They were listening to what we were saying and playing by the rules. I showed resilience because we didn't make a fuss about not finishing the game and went with the flow.

Wainui Camp Year 7

On Wednesday 2 March the year 7's travelled to wainui park by bus. We did a lot of fun activities there and I really enjoyed it. One of my favourites were team building. A lot of the activities challenged me. The most challenging activite was high ropes because you had to figure out a way to get to the top. My team was really supportive when I was on the ropes and I was also supporting them. We we're collaborating with other and trying to discover different strategies to make it across.

Library on Mondays

On Monday after a great rest from camp, I got back to librarian. I helped put the books away and picked up stuff lying on the floor. It was a challenge to put the picture books away because I still don't get used to the numbers on the spine. I still need to work through where the right numbers are. E.g. 939.2. I showed resilience even though it was hard finding the numbers.
